Standardized use and maintenance of adjustable steel supports: extending service life+ensuring safety

1. Before use: do a good job of "inspection+debugging"
Before use, two key parts need to be checked: first, the fit between the adjusting nut and the inner rod. When rotating the nut, it should be smooth without any jamming. If thread wear or slippage is found, it should be replaced immediately to prevent sudden instability during the adjustment process; The second is the connection strength between the base and the rod body. Tap the base lightly with a hammer. If you hear a "crisp sound", it means the connection is firm. If there is a "muffled sound", there may be welding cracking, and it needs to be stopped and repaired. At the same time, according to the construction load requirements, the support height shall be adjusted in advance to ensure that the adjusted height is 5-10mm lower than the design height, and the formwork settlement space shall be reserved.
2. In use: Strictly control the "load+adjustment frequency"
There are two misconceptions to avoid during use: firstly, overloading. It is strictly prohibited to stack too much material on a single support (such as pressing the entire bundle of steel bars onto the support). If the support rod is found to be bent (with a bending degree exceeding L/500, where L is the support height), it should be unloaded and replaced immediately; The second is frequent adjustment. Unless required for construction accuracy (such as template leveling), the adjustment nut should not be repeatedly rotated to prevent excessive thread wear. For example, in the process of pouring concrete for floor slabs, if it is necessary to fine tune the elevation of the formwork, the single adjustment height should not exceed 10mm, and after adjustment, it should be left to stand for 10 minutes to observe whether the support is stable.
3. During maintenance: do a good job of "cleaning+anti-corrosion+storage"
After the completion of the project, the maintenance of adjustable steel supports directly affects the reuse life:
Cleaning: Rinse the concrete residue on the support surface with a high-pressure water gun, and then clean the debris at the thread with a wire brush to ensure that the adjusting nut can rotate smoothly;
Corrosion prevention: If the galvanized layer on the supporting surface is found to be damaged (such as scratches or rust), it is necessary to first remove the rust (polish with sandpaper until the metal color is exposed), and then apply epoxy zinc rich primer and topcoat to prevent the spread of rust;
Storage: Classify the supports and store them (grouped by diameter and height adjustment). Use wooden blocks to elevate the bottom by more than 30cm to avoid contact with the ground and moisture. At the same time, place desiccants in the warehouse to control the humidity below 60% to prevent thread corrosion and jamming.
